According to Hollywood Reporter, Henry Cavill is done with his role as Superman and the DC Extended Universe.
Cavill who has donned the red cape for three movies so far, 2013’s Man of Steel, 2016’s Batman v. Superman and then last year’s Justice League decided to leave following breakdown in negotiations for a cameo in the upcoming Shazam movie due to scheduling conflicts.
Warner Bros. studios has now reportedly shifted their focus into a new Supergirl movie and are very unlikely to make a solo Superman film for at least several years.
Henry Cavill joins Ben Affleck, who isn’t expected to come back to reprise his role as Batman for director Matt Reeves’ forthcoming Batman movie. The other members of the Justice League seem to still be a part of the DCEU with Gal Gadot returning for Wonder Woman 1984, to hit theaters in November 2019, Jason Momoa headlines a solo Aquaman movie this December and Ezra Miller remains on board to star in a Flash movie, which is due to shoot in early 2019.
