Open House Lagos: The Full Schedule – All You Need To Know (Saturday & Sunday)

In anticipation of the biggest architectural showcase in Lagos and over twenty buildings opening their doors to all, British Council’s Open House Lagos selection will showcase beautifully designed residences, innovative infrastructure projects and prestigious civic buildings all for FREE. Under the guidance of professional buildings tour guides, registered participants will be given free access to the following buildings. Open House Lagos has themed bus tours allowing visitors to experience lots of architecture.  The tours would take place from Saturday, 30th April to 1st May with the help of well-informed tour guides, curated itineraries and comfortable transportation. IMPORTANT: The meeting point for all the bus departures and tour endings is Sterling Bank’s car park on Marina, Lagos Island (opposite Sterling Tower and next to ConOil station). The car park is large and can accommodate visitors’ cars for those going on the bus tours. For entry, visitors should mention “Open House Lagos”.

NOTE: Due to yesterday’s announcement by Lagos State Department of Environment that Sanitation Saturday is being reinstated,in compliance with the statewide Sanitation Saturday directive, the Open House Lagos bus tours have new departure times for Saturday. Visitors are advised to plan their movement accordingly.

1. Culture Club Tour

An action packed itinerary for the energetic culture vultures out there. The content-rich tour whizzes through centers of recreation, artistic expression, and symbols of national pride. The route covers Ikoyi and Lagos Island.

Route: Freedom Park – Bogobiri House – German Consulate – British Council


Departure times : 09.30 and 11.00 (Freedom Park)

2. Luxe Tour

This tour transports audiences to the epicenters of unparalleled luxury, award-winning design and proves that, “Lagos no dey carry last”. A concept store, a boutique hotel, architecture designed modern houses, (and maybe some free champagne!) hand-picked for an audience that demands only the finest in style and luxury.

Route: Carlton Gate – Maison Fahrenheit – Alara – G9 Banana Island


Departure times : 09.30 and 12.30

3. Green Shoots Tour

***The Green Shoots 2 tour on Sunday has been cancelled because rain is forecast for the next five days and a visit to Lagos HOMS (a building site) and Makoko Hotspot (a water logged area) is no longer feasible .***

4.Eko Legacy Tour

Lagos island is loaded with government buildings that have stood the test of time, housed colonial Governors since 1914 and received world leaders and international dignitaries, the cluster of state government buildings on and off Marina, Lagos Island, are a history lesson on Lagos itself. Then step back in time with a visit to restored buildings within Nigeria Railway Compound and relive the calm and charming aesthetic of a bygone era. Learn about renovation initiatives working to restore and preserve classic Lagos.

Route: Lagos Island walkabout – Nigeria Railway Compound Ebute-Metta
